Well the day that often seemed like it would never ever come has arrived! As soon as we get this video update sent away, we're tying our dingy on deck, saying our goodbyes and that's it! We're casting off on the adventure of a lifetime! Watch our little green line sail out of Halifax on our tracker / position page! I can't believe it's happening. Sorry this is short, but obviously we have a lot going on at the moment... Enjoy this video update below! Covering the month that Jess has been here with me, right up until a few minutes ago as we get ready to go! Thanks for all your support and encouragement everyone - and while we're excited to go, we are actually quite sad to be leaving all our many wonderful friends here in Halifax who have helped make this happen. We owe you all a huge debt of gratitude! As for our first port of call, we don't know. We'll see how we are going, and if all is well, we may just keep going 24/7 for a day or so to get some km under our belt. Oh, and if you're in Australia - the current issue of Australian Geographic Outdoor magazine has a news piece about us in it! Go and buy it =) Remember you can still send us messages etc through this website and we'll still be able to reply etc, thanks to our awesome Iridium Satellite system - Sat phone from Landwide Satellite Solutions linked up to our Macbook Pro's running GMN's amazing xGate compression system that makes it affordable! Chris and Jess, Great video - it helped to visualise your descriptions in the previous post. Nice work with the cupboard, fridge, toilet and the tube system for the ropes. The new inflatable looks awesome, as does the frame for the wind turbine etc. Glad to see you have new music options with the guitar and harmonica. If you have time and are in the mood for a giggle you could type "michel lauziere air horn" into YouTube. I am sure Chris could rig up your suits so that you can practice the routine over the next few months. Please post a video if you try (grin) !! Just watched your Youtube clip re final preparation. Unreal that you get to get under way. You both look happy and fit and most importantly ready and eager to go.
